Following an unexpected and crushing loss to the unranked California Golden Bears on Friday night, the heretofore undefeated Washington State Cougars tumbled out of the top 10 of the national rankings, dropping to No. 15 in the Associated Press poll.
The Cougs dropped all the way to No. 18 in the coaches poll.
As you were reminded multiple times yesterday (if you were able to muster up enough courage to watch any college football after Friday’s mess, anyway), it was a bananas weekend for upsets. In addition to the Cougs loss, the Clemson Tigers, Washington Huskies and Auburn Tigers — who also were previously in the top 10 of the AP poll — lost.
