FRISCO, Texas (March 6, 2022) – Washington State put the tying run on base twice in the ninth inning but dropped a 6-5 contest to Iowa at the Frisco College Baseball Classic Sunday afternoon.
WSU received a three-hit game from Justin Van De Brake, his second of the weekend, Will Cresswell added two hits and Hylan Hall hit his first career home run. Cougar starter Cole McMillan was impressive in his return to his native state of Texas, matching a season-high with seven strikeouts and allowed one earned run on three hits while working into the sixth inning.
