WSU gets an early Christmas present as coveted RB Max Borghi signs with Cougars over Stanford

Washington State put a flourish on an already impressive recruiting class Friday, when Max Borghi, the coveted running back from Pomona (Colo.) High School signed a letter of intent to join the Cougars.

Borghi has been committed to WSU since June, but when Stanford, his dream school, swooped in to offer him a scholarship in November, he was torn between his loyalty to the Cougars and his boyhood dream of playing for Stanford.

Borghi finally made a decision on Friday – he chose WSU over the Cardinal. It’s a huge win for the Cougars, who view Borghi as the heir apparent to Jamal Morrow’s multi-skilled role as a pass-catching tailback.
