D’Angelo McKenzie, a safety from Valley Christian School in San Jose, Calif., committed to WSU Tuesday via Twitter.

The 6-foot, 180-pounder is ranked the 11th-best safety in California by Scout.com. He picked WSU over offers from Notre Dame, Arizona, Arizona State and UCLA.

McKenzie took an unofficial visit Notre Dame in July and in August, he named the Fighting Irish as a favorite for his commitment.

Per 247Sports.com, WSU was the first school to offer McKenzie a scholarship on Feb. 28.

McKenzie is the 19th recruit to commit to WSU as part of the 2018 recruiting class, and the fourth defensive back.
