Washington State’s first big surprise of the day was actually the first fax the staff received early Wednesday morning as Kendrick Catis, a junior college inside linebacker, became the first player to officially sign with the Cougs during the early signing period.
Catis, who is listed at 6-foot-1, 228-pounds, is rated three-stars by the 24/7 Sports Composite and ranked the No. 4 overall inside linebacker in the junior college ranks. The Highlands C.C. product is also ranked the No. 131 junior college player overall.
The WSU coaching staff has been after Catis for quite some time. Despite an early commitment to Arizona State back in September, WSU continued to recruit the speedy linebacker, which resulted in an official visit two weekends ago.
