WSU football recruiting: Cougs land Texas cornerback Erick Hallett

Erick Hallett, a cornerback prospect from Cypress, Texas, announced on Twitter today that he has verbally committed to play his college football at Washington State.

Hallett, a composite three-star prospect, picked the Cougs over offers Memphis, Nevada, Southern Miss, Houston, Tulane, UMass and many others. Listed at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds, the Cy-Fair High School product is ranked the No. 64 overall cornerback prospect by the 24/7 Sports Composite. His 24/7 Sports rating (0.8536) is the third highest in the class.

As a junior last season, Hallett was a first-team all district selection after racking up 28 tackles, four interceptions, 12 pass breakups and a forced fumble.
