WSU extends contract of soccer coach Todd Shulenberger

Washington State soccer thought they probably needed a win in their regular season finale against Washington to make the NCAA Tournament. Instead, they played the Huskies in a 0-0 draw, putting their Tournament future in doubt.

As it turned out, the Cougs were able to sneak into the tournament, and they proved that they belong. They beat two top-20 teams, including 8th ranked UCF and 20th ranked Florida, on their way to the first Sweet 16 appearance in program history.

In the end, the run ended in double overtime against 16th ranked Florida. But the Cougs made an impact and showed that they belonged on the big stage.
