PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State dropped a nonconference matchup to Gonzaga 15-3 at Bailey-Brayton Field Tuesday afternoon.
paced the Cougars (9-7) with a two more hits including a solo homer in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to 16 games. matched a career high with three hits and drove in a run. Freshman pitcher worked two scoreless innings and fellow freshman worked a scoreless ninth. Gonzaga (6-10) used a nine-run third inning, tallied 15 hits and took advantage of nine Cougar walks and four hit-by-pitches.
Both teams traded runs in the opening frame as Gonzaga score with a bases-loaded single before WSU answered with Manzardo who lined a 1-0 pitch off the top of the right field wall for his third home run of the season.
