Washington State football coach Mike Leach was underwhelmed by his offense’s effort Tuesday at spring practice, telling reporters afterward that things quickly “evolved to street ball.”
Street ball, in this case, is defined as, “Instead of going out and playing with precision, you’ll just go out and play randomly like you’re at a park. Improvise routes, improvise throws. Instead of going where you’re supposed to be, you go to where you feel like being,” Leach said.
Which led Leach to put the offense on notice after their first practice in full pads Tuesday: “I think we had too many guys on there who were quick to act like they’ve accomplished something.
