What could Apple’s deal with the MLS mean for the Pac-12?

$250 million dollars a year. That’s the base of what Apple is reportedly paying the MLS to broadcast every game the league plays between 2023 and 2033. No regional TV broadcasts, no blackouts. Fans will be able to watch it all for the low price of an Apple TV+ subscription (and a yet to be announced additional MLS package subscription fee).

While the MLS is reportedly still negotiating non-exclusive national TV rights with traditional cable networks like ESPN and Fox, this is a big deal in the sports media landscape. With the agreement, the MLS becomes the largest sports organization in the US to award all of their rights to a digital outlet.
