Washington State advances to the Elite Eight

For the first time in school history, the Washington State soccer team is headed to the Elite Eight. Morgan Weaver scored twice, and Makamae Gomera-Stevens had the game-winner as WSU downed West Virginia 3-0.

The Cougs now travel to Columbia, South Carolina to take on the no. 2 seeded South Carolina Gamecocks. Time and date are TBD, it seems.

The win gives WSU 15 for the season, which is a school record.

The Cougs took a 1-0 lead into halftime and Weaver scored her first of the game in the 64th minute to give WSU a big 2-0 lead:

From that point on, you could tell West Virginia knew it was doomed.
