PORTLAND, Ore. – Washington State volleyball continued play at the North Portland Marriott Invite Friday evening, with a three-set victory over tournament host Portland.
Set scores from the match were: 25-17, 25-17, and 25-17 in favor of the Cougars (4-1).
This nonconference match between the Cougars and the Portland Pilots (3-2) was a stalemate throughout the early periods of play in set number one, with a total of 10 ties up until 13-13. Washington State finally found the correct rhythm and posted a run of 4-0 with kills from and to capture a sizable lead.
