The Washington Huskies and Washington State Cougars may have missed out on the four-team College Football Playoff, but they will each be involved in bowl games with storied histories this month.
Washington, which finished the regular season at 10-2 overall and ranked 11th in the CFP standings, will meet ninth-ranked Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma and Georgia make up CFP
It will be UW’s first trip to the Fiesta Bowl, which is one of the more marquee games of bowl season having featured matchups between two teams ranked in the top four on eight occasions since starting in 1971.
