UW stops Arizona State, coach Lindsay Meggs earns 800th victory

The Huskies endured a 2 hour, 26-minute rain delay in the top of the fourth inning and left the unseasonably rainy desert with a 6-1 win and a series victory over Arizona State on Sunday at Phoenix Municipal Park.

Three Washington (16-11, 7-5 Pac-12) pitchers combined to hold Arizona State (17-12, 4-8) to two hits and the Huskies batted around in the fifth and eighth innings – scoring three runs both times – to give coach Lindsay Meggs the 800th win of his 22-year career.

The Huskies clinched just their third series win on the road against Arizona State in team history.
