With the win, the Cougars (13-12, 0-10 in Pac-12) clinch their seventh consecutive winning season. The team also earned its second win of the season against a nationally-ranked opponent.

The day began with a pre-match ceremony honoring seniors Elizaveta Luzina and Charlotte Koning for their contributions to the WSU tennis team over the past four seasons. During their careers, Koning and Luzina have been a part of teams that won a combined four-year total of 64 matches.

After the pre-match ceremony, the match began in doubles play as the Cougars got off to a fast start. In the first doubles match of the day, WSU junior Maria Biryukova and freshman Nastia Vasyukhina defeated USF senior Milica Hadzi-Tanovic and junior Sofia Holmberg by a score of 6-3.
