Former ESPN'er Brett McMurphy is reporting via Twitter that the Washington State Cougars will return to the Holiday Bowl to play the Michigan State Spartans:
The Cougs—ranked 18th in the final CFP rankings—looked to be set for the Foster Farms Bowl, but with the Washington Huskies jumping to no. 11 in the CFP rankings, and thus ensuring them a spot in a NY6 bowl, that bumped everybody up a spot.
The Cougs had a shot to jump Stanford and into the Alamo Bowl, but it looks like Stanford will get that invite to play TCU, per McMurphy.
