BERKELEY, Calif. – The Washington State women's soccer team (8-5-1, 1-4-1) tied to the California Golden Bears (5-3-7, 2-0-5), 1-1, Friday afternoon in Berkeley, Calif. WSU junior scored the Cougars' goal in the 88th minute to draw level with California and clinch a road result.
Cal scored its goal early in the 6th minute on a well-weighted throughball from the Bears' midfield to Karlie Lema, making a run into the area. WSU's goalkeeper came off her line to close down the opportunity, but Lema took the touch to avoid the challenge and finish for the opening goal.
