Monfort may address court at official sentencing

After a grueling, six-month-long trial, Christopher Monfort is to be sentenced Thursday to life in prison without the possibility of release for ambushing and fatally shooting Seattle police Officer Timothy Brenton on Halloween night 2009.

Christopher Monfort is to be formally sentenced Thursday to life in prison without the possibility of release — a week after a King County jury rejected the death penalty for the convicted cop-killer following a lengthy, exhausting trial.
