COLFAX, Wash. (Aug. 30, 2025) – In the first race of the year, sophomores Evans Kurui and Rosemary Longisa each smashed the event records at the season-opening WSU Alumni Open, Friday at the Colfax Golf Club.
Longisa won the Women's 4-kilometer race in her first collegiate cross country race, crossing the line in 12-minutes, 54.4 seconds, 15 seconds faster than the second place finisher, Longisa's time was 11 seconds better than the previous best at this meet. Zenah Cheptoo. Cheptoo finished in 13:09.8, well ahead of third-place finisher Caroline Jepkorir.
