MADISON, Wisc. (September 14, 2025) – Washington State Women's Golf freshman Kaitlyn Helm fired an opening-round 66 to lead the Badger Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin Sunday.
Helm tallied seven birdies and just one bogey while tying the WSU freshman single-round record and tied for the second-best single-round by any Coug in program history. Junior Alice Johannson posted a school-record 65 during last year's Ptarmigan Ram Classic at Colorado State. Helm posted a front-nine 32 and closed her day with a back-nine 34 to lead the field by two strokes.
Senior Hannah Harrison joins Helm in the Top-10 after carding an opening-round even-par 72 to sit tied for ninth while sophomore Grace Rubelsky posted a two-over 74 to sit tied for 25th.
