Just one day after long tenured athletic director Bill Moos left Washington State University for the University of Nebraska, WSU president Kirk Schulz has named his interim replacement. Senior associate director of athletics John Johnson will be in charge of the department starting Wednesday, according to a release from the school. He will not be in the running for the full time position.
“John is an outstanding administrator and a fierce advocate for the Washington State University athletics program,” Schulz said in the release. “I couldn’t ask for a better-qualified individual to make sure that Cougar athletics continues to excel as we search for WSU’s next athletic director.
