Incoming Cougars Compete at European Championships

PULLMAN, Wash. – Maria Kostourkova and Borislava Hristova, incoming freshmen of the Washington State women’s basketball team, will be competing in the upcoming 2015 FIBA European Youth Championships this summer.

Kostourkova will compete for Portugal in Division A of the FIBA U-20 European Championship, July 2-12, in Lanzarote, Spain. The team will face the Netherlands, Belgium, and Ukraine in group play, before advancing to the knockout stage of the competition.

Hristova will compete for Bulgaria in Division B of the FIBA U-20 European Championship, July 2-12, in Podgorica, Montenegro. The Division B championship does not feature group play, as Bulgaria will face all nine opponents of the division in 11 days.
