HCA: USC Suspends Chimezie Metu after flagrant foul on Carter Skaggs

In the Cougars 89-71 loss to the USC Trojans basketball team last Sunday, Trojans leading scorer Chimezie Metu closed out on a Carter Skaggs shot in the first half and swung a closed fist with intention to the groin of Skaggs. Metu was assessed a flagrant foul on Sunday and on Monday the team and the conference announced that he would be suspended for the Trojans first half of their game on Thursday against California.

Metu wrote a letter to Skaggs, Cougars head coach Ernie Kent, and the rest of the Cougars basketball team to issue an apology that included “I understand there is no place in the game of basketball for such unsportsmanlike action.
