The 21st ranked Cougar women’s soccer team had their first match against someone in a different uniform this past weekend and came out on top thanks to two late goals. Trailing by a goal in the 80th minute to the University of San Diego, Maddy Haro and Morgan Weaver scored the Cougar’s first two goals of the year in the 82nd and 84th minute to lead the Cougars to the exhibition match victory.
Both Haro and Weaver picked up where they left off last season as the duo finished one and two in goals scored. Weaver with 7, and Haro with 4 combined to score just under half of the teams 26 goals last year.
