Harper's Heptathlon Debut Seventh Place

AZUSA, Calif. -- Washington State junior Liz Harper took seventh and freshman Lindsey Schauble placed 30th Thursday afternoon at the California Invitational Heptathlon being held at Azusa Pacific University.

Harper, from Missoula, Mont., scored 5,472 points for seventh place overall and was the fourth collegiate to place in her heptathlon debut. Harper’s point total is seventh-best in WSU all-time records. In the second day of events, Harper long jumped 19-feet, 1/2 inch (5.80m), threw the javelin 89-6 (27.28m) and ran the 800m in an outstanding time of 2 minutes, 16.23 seconds.
