Groups go to court to challenge city’s OK of Hedreen hotel plan

A lawsuit seeks to overturn the city’s go-ahead for R.C. Hedreen Co.’s proposal to build a 1,264-room hotel at 808 Howell St. in the Denny Triangle neighborhood.

Unite Here Local 8 and Alliance for a Livable Denny Triangle on Monday filed a 118-page lawsuit in King County Superior Court challenging a city hearing examiner’s decision on a proposal to build the Pacific Northwest’s largest hotel.

Last month, the examiner rejected the two groups’ appeal of the OK the city planning department gave last year to R.C. Hedreen Co.’s proposal to build a 1,264-room hotel at 808 Howell St.
