BOISE, ID. – With the rust of a 12 day layoff showing on the offensive end, the Cougars (6-5) fell back on their defensive toughness to win the day at Boise State (5-4) Monday night as Washington State came up with a 61-53 road win over the Broncos at Taco Bell Arena. In the final minutes of the game, the Cougs turned up their intensity on the defensive end of the court, holding the Broncos to just one made free-throw in the final 2:52 to pull away. While locking down defensively, the Cougs finished off the victory from the line by hitting 6-of-6 freebies in the final :20 seconds of the game.
