Cougs end the first round of the National Golf Invitational in third place

MARICOPA, Ariz. – The Washington State men's golf team ended the first round of the inaugural National Golf Invitational in third place, as the Cougars carded 5-under 283 during their first go-around at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.

Washington State had two golfers end the first round inside the top 10 on the player leaderboard, as juniors Preston Bebich and Drayton Joseph each ended Friday in a tie for eighth after carding 3-under 69. Both Bebich and Joseph each posted the second-best score on par 5 holes in the first round, as each WSU golfer shot 3-under.
