Cougars Upset Bid Turned Away on Late OSU Homer

CORVALLIS, Ore. (March 21, 2021) – Washington State dropped the rubber game of the Pac-12 Conference opening series 9-8 after an eighth inning solo home run by No. 18 Oregon State at Goss Stadium Sunday afternoon. WSU won Friday's opener 5-2 and the Beavers claimed Saturday's contest 10-3.

The Cougars (11-4), who were seeking their first series win against Oregon State in Corvallis since 2009, were tied at eight heading into the bottom of the eighth before OSU (13-4) hit the go-ahead solo home run to left field.

WSU received a three-hit game from third baseman , three walks and two runs scored from leadoff man and a game-tying two-run double from right fielder .
