Cougars Drop Rubber Game at Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – Washington State suffered a 5-0 defeat in the rubber game of the Pac-12 Conference series at Stanford University Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars (8-14, 1-5 Pac-12) received two-hit games from Trek Stemp, Justin Harrer and Mason Cerrillo but left 10 men on bases throughout the afternoon. The Cardinal (12-6, 2-1 Pac-12) used a two-run homer in a three-run third inning and tacked on another run in the sixth and seventh inning to back an impressive outing by starter Chris Catellanos who pitched seven shutout innings to help clinch the series.
