Cougars Drop One-Run Contest at Portland

PORTLAND (March 26, 2024) – Washington State dropped a 3-2 contest to Portland at Joe Etzel Field Tuesday evening.

The Cougars (15-9), who entered the game winners of five straight, left nine runners on base and saw Portland (14-8) break a 2-2 tie with the go-ahead run on sacrifice fly in the seventh inning. WSU received a career-high four hits from catcher but the Cougars left multiple runners on base to end the second, sixth and eighth innings.
