Cougars Defeat Eastern Washington, 5-2

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State Women's Tennis team swept the doubles and captured the first three singles matches en route to a 5-2 win over Eastern Washington Saturday at the Simmelink Tennis Courts.

With the win, the Cougars improve to 3-0 on the season with the Eagles fall to 1-2.

Eastern Washington competed with only five players, resulting in No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles being forfeited to the Cougars. At No. 2 doubles, and made quick work of Renata Gabuzyan and Kenzington Mann, winning 6-0 in under 20 minutes. At No. 1, the Cougar duo of and captured four of the last five games to complete a 7-5 comeback over Yasmin Mansouri and Isabella Foshee as WSU took the opening doubles point.
