Cardinal Take Game Two From Cougars

STANFORD, Calif. – Washington State dropped a 6-1 decision to Stanford University at Sunken Diamond Friday evening.

The Cougars (8-13, 1-4 Pac-12) recorded five hits and Stanford (11-6, 1-1 Pac-12) used a two-run third inning and a four-run sixth to post a 6-1 victory. Cardinal ( starter Tristan Beck struck out 10, allowed one earned on five hits in eight innings.

Washington State took a 1-0 lead with an RBI-infield single by Dugan Shirer. Mason Cerrillo led off the inning with a single to right centerfield and later came home as Shirer beat out an infield to second.
