COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 14, 2025) – Washington State swimmer Avery Bulkley was named the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Bulkley had an impressive first collegiate meet, winning the 1650 free, finishing fourth in the 500 free and helped the 800 free relay to a second-place finish while the Cougars finished the meet in third place.
The freshman from Payson, Utah won the 1650 free with a 17:05.35, good for a five second win and entered Tuesday with the 11th-fastest mile time in the country.
