Assistant coach Rod Jensen, guard Caila Hailey make Cougars tougher on defense

Assistant coach Rod Jensen made his mark on the Cougars’ women’s team within months of his arrival, guiding guard Caila Hailey to honorable mention All-Pac-12 defensive-team honors last season.

PULLMAN – When Washington State women’s basketball coach June Daugherty hired Rod Jensen as an assistant in July 2015, her hope was that Jensen would help overhaul the Cougars’ defense.

Jensen, who has spent almost his entire career on the men’s side of the game and was an assistant on former WSU men’s coach Ken Bone’s staff, is known as a defensive savant.
