SAN FRANCISCO – Closing out his final year at Washington State University, senior AJ Armstrong earned his third-straight Pac-12 All-Academic First Team award to lead four Cougars on the all-academic team as announced by the conference office Thursday. While Armstrong picked up first team honors, fellow senior Grant Cole along with juniors Nicklaus Chiam and Scott Redelsperger each earned honorable mention status.
The leader on the course and in the classroom for the Cougars, Armstrong became the first Coug to earn first team honors in three-straight seasons since James Madison accomplished the feat with four-consecutive awards from 2004-07.
