1. SALMONELLA IN SEATTLE: Nine cases of salmonella were traced to raw eggs used in Benedicts at Tallulah’s on Capitol Hill at Father’s Day brunch. It’s terrible to get food poisoning, and in rare cases it can be life-threatening (rather than just wishing you were dead). However, The Tallulah’s menu had the required undercooked-food-can-kill-you verbiage; you eats your raw eggs, you takes your chances, and in the case of hollandaise, isn’t it worth it? MORE>>>

HEALTH DEPARTMENT SHUTDOWNS: Meanwhile, Lotus Asian Kitchen & Lounge on First Hill was shut down for food safety violations including poor personal hygiene practices, inaccessible/not operating hand-washing facilities, food cross-contamination possibilities and foods stored at unsafe temperatures.
