It’s August 10 and in a month the Washington State Cougars will be going against the Boise State Broncos on the Smurf Turf in one of the more marquee matchups in the 2016 season. A win against Boise State could strengthen WSU’s argument that they’re a legitimate contender to win the Pac-12 and earn a College Football Playoff berth, right?
Still, it's a longshot.
Per Bovada online sportsbook, the Cougars are given just 200-to-1 odds to win the 2016 College Football Playoffs national championship. After the 2016 title game ended, WSU was listed at 66-to-1 and just a month later that number grew to 100-to-1.
