2 rescued near Kingston by crews from ferry, private boat

Two people were rescued from the water off Kingston on Monday morning.

According to a Washington State Ferries spokeswoman, a private boat and the crew from the Washington State Ferry “Walla Walla” offered assistance after a small boat overturned.

The rescue occurred shortly after 11 a.m., the ferries spokeswoman said.

The private boat took the two people to the Port of Kingston Marina, where they were examined by medics. They were not hospitalized, North Kitsap Fire & Rescue wrote on their Facebook page.

It’s unclear what caused their boat to overturn.
