New York Giants release Brandon Marshall after failed physical

The New York Giants announced Thursday that they have released wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Marshall, 34, is starting to see his career sputter out after just a few seasons removed from catching a career-high 14 receiving touchdowns in 2015. That was tied for the NFL lead that year, while he played for the New York Jets.

In 2016, Marshall caught just three touchdowns in 15 games and saw his season-to-season reception total drop from 109 to 59, all while publicly feuding with teammate Sheldon Richardson. The Jets cut him that offseason and he moved to their crosstown rival.
