Kirk Cousins gave newborn son a game ball after win over 49ers

ASHBURN, Virginia -- After Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins scored what proved to be the winning touchdown Sunday, he made sure to keep the ball. Then he delivered it to someone who had no clue what to do with it: his newborn son.

Cooper, born last month, had attended his first game with his mother, Julie. Her husband, and Cooper’s father, put the ball in the nursery later that night, after the 26-24 victory over San Francisco.

“Now my wife wants it to get painted up to say, ‘Cooper’s game ball,’” Cousins said.
