WASHINGTON (AP) - Former NFL quarterback Joe Theismann says he was sickened by seeing the video of Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward breaking his left ankle.
Theismann also tells The Associated Press in a telephone interview Wednesday that he would be available to chat with Hayward and offer advice if the NBA player wants.
In 1985, Theismann’s right leg was broken on a sack by Lawrence Taylor during a game between the Washington Redskins and New York Giants on “Monday Night Football.” Theismann was 36 at the time and did not appear in another NFL game.
