McCain, drafted in 2015, signed a 4-year extension with the Dolphins in 2018. He was due to earn $6.4m in 2021 and $7.0m in 2022. When he is released by Miami, he will be immediately able to sign with any NFL team. At this point in the offseason, many clubs are limited on cap space.
