FedEX said Thursday it has asked the Washington Redskins to change their name.
The company sponsors the team’s stadium in Landover, Maryland, and its CEO, Frederick Smith, is part of the Redskins’ ownership committee.
“We have communicated to the team in Washington our request that they change the team name,“ the company wrote in a statement.
