Doug Williams biopic to be developed: report

Get ready to see Doug Williams’ story on the big screen.

Deadline reported Thursday that the former Redskins quarterback will be the focus of a new sports biopic from Will Packer Productions, the producers of “Night School” and “Girls Trip.”

Williams, now an executive with the Washington Redskins, became the first black quarterback to ever win the Super Bowl when he led the Redskins in 1988 over the Denver Broncos. Williams spent nine seasons in the NFL from 1978 to 1989, including four with the Redskins following a stint in the USFL.

Will Packers Productions have secured the rights to Williams’ story and will assign a writer to develop the screenplay.
