Wire Taps: Washington Nationals’ Davey Martinez erupts, rips out base, over another Trea Turner call on way to first...

Maybe he had flashbacks to that play in the Game 6 of the 2019 World Series, when Trea Turner was called out for interference on the way to first base on a weak ground ball. It’s understandable. That rule and the way it’s enforced is an absolute joke. This time a wild pitch/strike three created a similar scenario. Turner was called out again, in the seventh inning of last night’s game against the Chicago Cubs in Wrigley Field, and his manager came out to argue about the call and lost it.

Like, full-on scream a bit, stomp on the base, and pull the first base bag up and kick it, lost it.
