Lately, many articles have gone up—everywhere from the Washington Post to Sports Illustrated—that the Washington Nationals have “a horrendous bullpen that must be fixed if they want to win a championship” or something along those lines, a sentiment that every fan on Twitter has repeated.
Here’s a thought: is it possible that Mike Rizzo actually knows that his bullpen is struggling?
Is it possible that the Nats are desperately thinking of ways to fix the bullpen, of how and when to act as soon as possible?
Generally, one would assume that the general manager of a team—especially one of a team as good as these Nationals are—would be working hard to fix the team’s biggest problem.
