Washington Nationals’ lineup for the series finale with the New York Mets

Davey Martinez said the only thing he could compare last night’s improbable comeback, walk-off win over the New York Mets to was the Tampa Bay Rays’ 8-7 win over New York’s Yankees in Game 162 of the 2011 campaign.

Martinez was the bench coach for the Rays that season, when they came back from a 7-0 deficit to beat the Yankees and walk off with a win and a Wild Card spot.

Martinez’s club in D.C. beat the Mets after trailing by six runs going into the ninth inning of the second game of the three-game set in the nation’s capital, but they scored seven runs with Kurt Suzuki’s walk-off, three-run blast lifting the Nationals to an 11-10 win.
