Spring Training is right around the corner as pitchers and catchers report for the Washington Nationals on February 12th. The rest of the team will show up five days later on the 17th. This is the time for the roster to be filled out and allow prospects to show their progress. Most of the Nationals roster is set, but a few spots are open, such as the fifth starter, third base, and the long reliever. The long reliever will probably be filled by one of the losers from the fifth starter competition. However not all of the position battles are the biggest head lines to keep in mind.
