For the second time this season, Stephen Strasburg left a start abruptly. Strasburg, who missed 25 days with neck tightness after he was pulled from his May 29 start at Cincinnati after just one inning, left Saturday’s start against San Francisco after 3 2/3 innings.
Strasburg, who had allowed just one hit, retired Buster Posey on a ground out to second, and manager Matt Williams, pitching coach Steve McCatty and trainer Lee Kuntz went to the mound. After discussing it with the 26-year-old right-hander, Strasburg left.
He was replaced by Tanner Roark.
